Recovery Radio
In an effort to get listeners talking, past the stage of denial, introduce family members to treatment options, and help those in need work towards the road to recovery; the Illinois Department of Human Services has collaborated with WVON-1690 to launch Recovery Radio.
Recovery Radio is a 60 minute call in radio program that educates its listeners about the recovery process and supports people who are currently in recovery. The show airs every Sunday on WVON-1690 AM from 8:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. The show features DHS staff members, experts in the field of recovery, and actual stories and testimonials.

Community Health Fair
The first of two Community Health fairs will be held on July 15th at the Humboldt Park Field house beginning at 10:00 a.m. There will be health screenings, community presentations and lots of information provided free to all who attend.
